Ideal for machine or hand carving, basswood can be nailed, glued, painted, and stained. It's a fairly soft wood with a close, tight grain structure durable enough for craft projects you want to last and ideal for a wide variety of hobbies, crafts and miniatures. Thin basswood may be cut with a hobby knife; thicker basswood requires a saw. Basswood is a domestic wood cut in Northern Michigan and Wisconsin. Each piece of wood is inspected for consistent quality to save you sanding and fabrication time.
