Thin Kerf Band Saw Blades
Kerf is the slot made by a cutting tool in parting material. Thinner gauge improves performance, accuracy, and stability on smaller band saws. Larger band saws cut faster and easier with reduced kerf size and amperage.
Tooth Hardness: 62-63rc Back Hardness: 28-32rc Regular, Skip, and Hook shape teeth. Raker set: left, right, left, right, straight (raker) pattern.
Cuts hard/soft wood, plastic, mild steel and non-ferrous metal (for machines with speed reduction).
.020 gauge is a thinner gauge for smaller stationary band saws such as sears Craftsman® 12-in., Jet and Delta 10 and 12-in., Shopsmith 11-in. with blade lengths up to 82-in. and for larger stationary band saws with up to 14" diameter wheels that take 93-1/2in. long blades.
TKO Bands are hard edge flex back blades in .020 gauge (vs .012 and .014 hobby bands) for greater longevity and stability on 2-wheel bench top band saws. These are efficient, economical hobby band saw blades for the occasional user and are similar to band saw blades supplied by Delta, Sears, and Vermont American for bench top band saws.
