How To Fold A Band Saw Blade
Folding a band saw blade can be tricky. Here is a quick guide to show you how to get that band saw blade back in a box!
First remember to always wear gloves and eye protection. Always Unplug the bandsaw from its power source and when removing or installing the blade from the saw.
Hold the blade with both hands, teeth facing away from you and put your foot on the bottom of the loop.
Next put slight pressure on the blade and push down so the blade is making an oval, about half its original height.
Then with both hands and twist the blade by rotating your hands inward and you will now form an “X” shape.
Keep twisting by adjusting your hands, take the end that is on top of the “X” and fold it down, tucking it under the other end of the blade.
Keep going!
Continue this process, alternating folds until the entire length of the blade is neatly folded into a compact bundle. Depending on the length and size of your blade you could end up with 3-5 loops.
Finally, use a twist tie or a piece of string to secure the folded blade and prevent it from unfolding.
It’s important to take your time and be patient when folding the blade to avoid any accidental cuts or damage to the blade.
